Essential Oils and Yoga
Essential oils have a powerful way of enhancing the practices of yoga and meditation.
Here are some of my favorite oils to use during yoga practice:
Begin with Peppermint to connect yourself more deeply to your breathing and open your airways. Place a drop or two in your palms and bring them in a tent to your face. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Peppermint awakens the mind and helps alleviate brain fog; it’s great to wake you up for an early morning practice!
Use Wild Orange to uplift & energize through your practice. Place a few drops at the top of the mat. Wild Orange works a lot like a mantra; it helps you to focus and has calming properties. It also is a great reminder to breathe.
Use Lavender right before your final relaxation. Place the oil on your temples or back of the neck to help you relax into the pose.
