Nourishing Heart Yoga
Immerse 120 Hour - Yoga Teacher Training

Building upon the depth of experience in the Awaken Module, we now engage in the pathway of leadership.  The Immerse Module is a 120 hour program devoted to learning how to teach alignment based, soulful, and heart-centered Hatha Yoga. 

This comprehensive training includes daily practice and meditation, practical yoga anatomy, strategic planning and sequencing of classes, finding your authentic voice, practice teaching, inter-personal work and learning how to live from your heart.  You will receive the personal instruction necessary to super charge your own practice and spiritual development while also gaining the confidence and knowledge needed to intelligently guide others.  The majority of the training will be taught by Matece Skow with an esteemed guest faculty.

Additionally, learn how to develop your intuition, uphold the seat of the teacher, read the energy of the room, create and hold space for nurturing, transformational yoga classes, give precise alignment instruction and hands on assists, and learn the art of seeing and relating to students.   We will cover working with injuries, beginners and special populations, the ethics and business of yoga, and learn the basics of restorative and yin yoga.

 It is the goal of the Awaken and Immerse modules to encourage and develop your capacity to authentically teach yoga from your heart.  Through self-reflection, you will learn to drawn upon and further develop your natural talents and abilities as a yoga teacher. 

The program is meant to be rigorous and scholarly at the level of the mind, and experiential and affirming at the level of the heart.  When you can unite the knowledge of the mind with the deep love of the heart, then you are on your way to becoming an inspiring, well-rounded yoga teacher!

The training will be held on Thursday evenings and over four weekends (Fri/Sat/Sun)

May – June 2018

Training hours:

Thursday 5-10pm


Friday 6-9pm

Saturday 9:00am – 12:30pm and 1:30pm – 6:00pm

Sunday 9:00am – 12:30pm and 1:30pm – 5:00pm


Thursdays: May 10, May 24, June 7, June 21

Weekends: May 11 – 13, May 18 – 20, June 1 – 3, June 15-17

Weekly Preparation:

3 – 5 hours (includes reading, personal development and various exercises for individual classes)

Students may not miss more than 1 session.  All hours missed must be made up.

How to Register:

  1. If you applied for the Awaken Module, your application is already accepted.  Please inquire with Matece if you wish to attend the Immerse module independent from the Awaken Module.
  2. Send in your application and $100 application fee.
  3. Receive your acceptance letter.
  4. Complete your registration by paying the full registration deposit of $280.
  5. Pay full tuition of $1,750 no later than 30 days prior to the start of your training.  (Your application deposit counts toward your tuition.)
  6. Payment Plan – pay initial $280 payment.  You application fee and deposit count as your first payment; a monthly payment plan is available.  See below.

The tuition fee covers all hours with Matece and guest instructors, and instructional resources.

You are responsible for purchasing the required texts (approx. $100).


A non-refundable application fee of $100 is due upon receipt of your Application for Admission. This fee is applied toward your tuition.

After acceptance to the program, you must secure your registration through payment of the $280 Registration Deposit.

Monthly Payment Plan:

A Monthly Payment Plan is available upon written request.

The Payment Plan lets you pay your tuition payment across a period of three months. Payments are as follows: Pay the $280 registration deposit 30 days prior to the beginning of the course (or earlier) and monthly payments of $510 scheduled each month from the date of your initial payment. All payments (100% of the full tuition) must be paid in full prior to receiving your Certificate of Completion. The total tuition with the Payment Plan is thus $1,910 ($160 more than when paying the full tuition 30 days prior to the program beginning).

Refund Policy:

The $100 application fee is not refundable. The $280 registration fee is refundable up until 30 days prior to the start of the course (minus the $100 application fee) and is forfeited after that. Two weeks prior to the course beginning 60% of the full tuition is refundable. One week prior to the course beginning there are no refunds.

Early Bird Discounts:

Save $50 by paying in full with check or cash.

Save $50 by registering by April 1, 2018.

Refer a friend to the program and receive $50.

You will be allowed to miss no more than 1 session of program content  due to prior plans or emergencies.  All missed material will need to be made up.

To receive the 200-hour certification you will need to complete the following:

  • Pay all tuition fees
  • Complete all homework assignments
  • Complete all required reading assignments
  • Sequence and teach a full 60 minute class as your final
  • Pass the completion exam

Observe 6 public yoga classes with Matece and other yoga instructors

Regular yoga practice of at least 3 times per week

Daily Meditation practice of 20 minutes

Upon completion of the 200 hour program, you will be eligible to take the Comprehensive Certification Exam.  Upon passing the Comprehensive Certification Exam, you will get your Certificate of Graduation and be qualified to apply to Yoga Alliance for membership in its registry of yoga teachers as Registered Yoga Teacher at the 200 level (RYT 200).
