Lessons from the Gita

Marci Becker

Sundays 3 – 4pm

3/22, 3/29, 4/5, and 4/12

The Bhagavad Gita is part of an ancient Indian epic; it’s a tale of conflict and despair for our protagonist, Arjuna. How will he be able to face the challenges before him?  This story offers wisdom that is just as applicable for the challenges we face today as it was hundreds of years ago when it was written.
Join us for a glimpse into the deep transformation that awaits those who learn to incorporate these teachings into their modern day lives.
In this series, we will work with snapshots of the Gita through movement and meditation, offering you the opportunity to embody the teachings as well as time to contemplate how to take this wisdom with you off the mat.
This series is for anyone curious about the philosophy of ancient India…there is no experience required and you are.

Always recognizing that you are in the driver’s seat….but sometimes you need someone to ride with you on this roadtrip we call life.

Marci fell in love with the practice of yoga through the Healing Spirit yoga studio in Bloomington, Indiana. While living a hectic life with small children, a full time job, many family responsibilities and other activities, the sanctuary of the yoga studio became more and more important in her life. No matter what else was going on at any given time, going to yoga class always brought her back to a beautiful place within herself: a true sanctuary. Being fascinated with the rejuvenating and healing effects of the practice, she decided to study formally. She completed the 200-hour training program with Marsha Pappas and Nikki Myers at the CITYOGA School of Yoga and Health in Indianapolis in the summer of 2010. The training program was everything she wanted and so much more. She is honored to now share her love of this sacred practice with others.

In 2018, she reached ‘Experienced’ level of certification with Yoga Alliance and in 2021 completed her advanced Yoga Teacher training with the Nourishing Heart Yoga Studio. With her certification of Continuing Education Provider for Yoga Alliance, she also looks forward to sharing her knowledge and experience with other Yoga Teachers as they work to continue to grow and learn as teachers and practitioners.
