Matece Skow, Founder of Nourishing Heart Yoga, has been fostering compassionate growth and healing for students and clients for the past 22 years. She facilitates safe and nurturing environments for transformation of body and heart through the practices of yoga, breathwork, meditation, essential oils, hands on healing and massage.
Matece began her Thai Yoga Therapy studies by becoming a Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner and earning her first certification from Ritam Healing Arts in Ojai, California in 2008. She immediately integrated Thai Yoga Therapy into her bodywork practices and has consistently shared this healing art form with clients ever since, practicing Thai Yoga Massage now for over 13 years.
She furthered her studies in 2010 by attending the Healer’s Immersion and Advanced Thai Yoga Massage Training with Ritam Healing Arts in Kauai, Hawaii. There she connected with other Thai Massage therapists who encouraged and inspired her to go to the home of Thai Massage and learn from authentic teachers who hold the lineage of this healing art.
In 2012 Matece traveled to Chaingmai, Thailand to immerse herself in a month of study with various teachers. During this time, she completed the Traditional Thai Massage Training with Arjan Pichest Boonthumme, a renowned Thai Massage Master Teacher. She also attended the Thai Massage Nerve Touch School and studied with Master Jack Chaiya completing Advanced Nerve Touch Level I and II, Nerve Touch Massage with Medicinal Herb Packs, and Thai Foot Reflexology.
Matece began teaching Thai Yoga Therapy to others soon after her return from Thailand in 2012. Since that time, she has taught many Thai Yoga Therapy workshops and trainings all over the country and world, including bringing a group of students to Thailand for a Cultural Immersion and Thai Yoga Therapy training in Chiangmai. She hopes to share all that Thai Yoga Therapy has given her both professionally as a bodyworker and also personally, as a spiritual practice.
