Yoga for 12 Step Recovery

This specialized series integrates mindful movement, breathwork, meditation, and spiritual practices designed to support individuals in 12-step recovery programs. Each session creates a sacred, supportive environment where participants can explore the mind-body-spirit connection while deepening their understanding of recovery principles.

The series format flexibly rotates through the 12 steps while remaining responsive to participants’ current needs and experiences. This natural approach allows the instructor to adapt session themes based on what the group is working through in their recovery journey, ensuring each session feels relevant and authentically connected to their step work.

Important Note: This workshop series serves as a complementary wellness practice and does not constitute a sanctioned addiction meeting. It is designed to enhance, not replace, regular 12-step meetings and other essential recovery support services.

THIS CLASS IS HELD IN THE NEST.

Kelly Linz, RYT-200, Y12SR, Trauma-Informed Yoga Certified

Kelly discovered yoga during her early recovery when a trusted loved one led her to a transformative retreat with Matece. What began as fearful steps into an unfamiliar practice became a profound pathway to healing. Yoga offered her the ability to look inward with compassion and uncover the light that had always existed within the darkness. Kelly found that yoga’s mind-body-spirit integration helped her develop holistic awareness, connecting physical sensations, emotions, and spiritual states in a way that naturally aligned with her 12-step foundation.

Following the 12th Step promise to carry the message to others and practice these principles in all affairs, Kelly dedicates her teaching to serving others in recovery through yoga, the practice that supported her own transformation. She believes yoga isn’t about becoming something more—it’s about uncovering what has always been there. Kelly creates sacred, supportive spaces where students can explore the mind-body-spirit connection while reinforcing 12-step principles, using trauma-informed approaches that honor each person’s growth and the recognition that we are already enough.
